Foster Care, Dog Bitten and A Dose of Self Worth Inspired BMS to Design Their 1st Fitness Bikini

For years the question to design fitness competition swimsuits has been tossed around...Requests have been turned into offering our other styles which are quite different than what you see on stage. Designing fitness suits has always been an idea as I love fitness and have been dedicated to the lifestyle all my life but it was always put on the back burner. BMS produces unique custom styled swimsuits but none of them have the style you might find at a competition show. As a self taught designer there are Limitations to what is being made having to learn new techniques on my own at my own pace. The story included you're about to read is real and not fabricated to say the least. BMS has always true heartedly designed from inspiration, every suit has a reason it's made and has a story to tell and thats been documented from day one of opening the business. Brass Monkey Swimwear for the very first time has a reason and an inspiration to design our very first Fitness Competition Swimsuit for the friend in this story below. Our style has always been one of a kind and easily spotted apart from other swim lines having a custom tailored look and I predict this suit we make will do the same. So will there be more BMS Fitness suits? I'm not so sure. We'll have to see how it turns out. (the suit pictured on Christine is not our suit, BMS suit will be ready mid May 2013)

I'd like to take a moment to recognize an old friend. Some of you might know her and some might not. This is Christine Huber. Christine and I went to High School together. She grew up in foster homes and group homes never understanding why she wasnt wanted. Among other life struggles a tragic incident struck during high school years... She was attacked in the face by a dog ... In fact this quote from Christine to myself might Shock you....
"Oh....Jean, you were awesome. I remember everyone at the party being like "what do we do - omg her face is gone" and YOU said wtf people put her in the car, were taking her to the hospital", I believe you said your aunt was a nurse and I heard you tell someone "go look for her lip, if the dog didn't eat it, put it on ice and we can save it" & apparently someone did find it and put it on ice cause it was reconstructed onto my face. I truly believe you helped save me that night! You were so calm and level headed amongst so much chaos & that's why I reached out to you a while ago to thank you. It's almost like you were my guardian angel that night! Much love girl! Xoxoxo Christine Huber~

Much has happened since that day long ago. Struggles with weight and self confidence were an every day battle. Christine made the decision to take control of her life. She started a positive routine and workout schedule and stayed focused on her goals. The before and after photos I've posted blew me away, not to mention her feelings on what she remembered on that tragic day in high school. I am proud of you Christine and all of your accomplishments. You are a true inspiration to all people and woman.
